| Notes | ID: ANON2000A; An online Journal format site devoted, as the name suggests, to Flexible Working. Contains useful case studies. Recent additons include the editor's 'tonque in cheek' 12 ways to screw up a flexible working project. http://www.flexibility.co.uk/flexwork/g_12ways.htm, which should be read by anyone thinking along those lines. Their benefits summary, http://www.flexibility.co.uk/flexwork/o_implementation2.htm, is slightly more pedestrian though it does contain estimates showing typical all in recriuitment costs per average employee of £15,000 highlighting the benefits of staff retention (c.f. Citex, 1999); one more aspect of organisational performance where the impac6t of workplace remains under researched. I was also struck by the calculation that, to the AA's estimated true cost per mile of 50p should be added an average of 75p for salary costs. One case of a public sector office achieving a 33& increase in visits by mobile professionals is mentioned but not identified. Overall useful material and a useful site, but still the shortage of evidence. $$ $$ |
