Notes ID: BLYTH2001; During 2000 the Construction Research and Innovation Strategy Panel commissioned a working group of, efectively Facilities Managers, to discuss research objectives for the next five years. They identify three major objectives: I$mproving the systemic organisation of building performance feedback Improving understanding of the interelationship of buildings and organisations Deepening the understanding of the service life of products (building components) and their specification, part of a need for better understanding of building life cycles. $and seven other areas that the group did not have time to fully articulate. The link between business performance and building performance is identified as an issue, but the connection is made at the level of the building, as a tangible asset, not the workplace that is created in that building. If there is one caveat with the report that would be it. Offices do not get mentioned. The task force might of course properly reply that they were concerned with many types of buildings.
