| Notes | ID: VALVERDE1997; The concluding article of a special issue devoted to new developments in labour flexibility. Other papers in the same issue are not reviewed here having greater academic than practitioner orientation. The authors highlight how flexibility is being interpreted differently in different national cultures and suggest the same in organisations where some see it as part of strategic HRM and others as a cost cutting excercise and a means of reducing obligations to employees. The cost-benefits of either approach are reported as not having been studied. |
