| Notes | ID: LEAMAN1992; In short not yet, and perhaps not for 10 years, because the correct platform of professional knowledge has not been put in place. Leasmas draws attention to the uneasy integration of design and management; $"not natural bedfellows"$. Design type activities create and change contexts, management ones, for Leaman, work within already existing contexts. Undoubtedly that statement reflects existing 1992 management and FM orthodoxy, however a newer view which has gained some ground through the decade, and which was there in 1990, would see management as the work of creating and changing contexts. Until such time as such a view prevails the impact of facility on performance may remain mysterious. |
